Branch Manager Trainee
About the role
Daikin Comfort Technologies Distribution, Inc. is seeking a professional, skilled individual for the Branch Manager Trainee position within our Branch Operations group located in Carrollton, TX. The Branch Manager Trainee will take direction from multiple sources to learn all aspects of branch operations and the Branch Manager position. This includes shadowing or fulfilling the duties of each role within the branch up to and including graduation to the role of Branch Manager. The Branch Manager Trainee is a strong team player, results-oriented, dedicated to excellence, and has a sense of urgency to achieve business objectives. An online assessment is required for consideration.
Responsibilities
- Help build branch sales, including new business, by maintaining house accounts through active dealer communication regarding new product launches, services, supplies, prices, and new product sales or discounts via outbound calls and in-house counter discussions.
- Conduct outbound calls to existing and lost customer accounts.
- Maintain sales programs within the assigned territory by keeping customers informed about available services, supplies, prices, and new products.
- Provide excellent customer service via walk-ins, phone calls, and emails.
- Execute all aspects of the sales function, including order processing, purchase orders, payment processing, quotes, and delivery dates; ensure accuracy of information to guarantee correct item(s) are ordered.
- Periodically reach out to customers to determine satisfaction with the organization, products, and services.
- Maintain records and prepare reports on sales activities and manage inventory levels.
- Expand knowledge of HVAC products and keep current with the latest industry trends.
- Learn the roles and responsibilities of all functions within the branch, including:
- CSR/Inside Sales: Counter duties involving face-to-face customer interaction and transaction completion using Mincron.
- Warehouse: Safely operate a forklift, perform proper and safe loading/unloading and stacking techniques, and fill customer orders – Will Call.
- Driver: Execute delivery processes, documentation procedures, DOT regulations, and internal safety protocols.
- Branch Manager: Learn employee relations, timekeeping, inventory control, and asset protection.
- Work positively with all levels of management and peers to ensure all areas and departments function as an effective team to deliver the highest level of service.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe branch showroom, warehouse, and showroom environment, free of safety hazards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Possesses a broad theoretical job knowledge typically obtained through advanced education. Has no discretion to deviate from established procedures by performing structured work assignments. Work is closely supervised. Problems faced are not typically difficult nor complex. Explains facts, policies, and practices related to the job area.
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to learn and demonstrate knowledge of the complete operations of the branch within 8–12 months and be ready to move into a Branch Manager position upon completion of training.

Experience
- 1–3 years of customer service, retail, or HVAC experience preferred.
Education/Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in business preferred; degrees in Business, Sales, or HVAC-related fields or equivalent experience are acceptable.
