About the role
WaFd Bank is hiring a Branch Manager to lead a branch in driving business development, sales, and client relationships. This role focuses on growing deposits, originating loans, and expanding services for small businesses while ensuring outstanding customer service and compliance with regulatory standards. The Branch Manager will coach and develop a high-performing team, meet performance metrics, and uphold WaFd Bank’s corporate values of integrity, teamwork, ownership, simplicity, discipline, and service.
Responsibilities
- Drive business development and sales, particularly with small businesses.
- Grow deposits, originate loans, and expand client relationships through cross-selling.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team to achieve growth goals.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service.
- Adhere to bank policies and procedures, including compliance with Federal regulations such as the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, and OFAC.
- Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and kindness in all communications.
- Meet performance metrics and production goals.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in finance, business, or a related field.
- 5+ years in banking, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Prior sales or client relations experience preferred.
- Proven success in small business development, deposit/loan growth, and cross-selling.
- Strong knowledge of banking regulations, compliance, and operational procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams), keyboarding, and digital banking tools.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to be bonded.
