Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human/social services, or a related field or equivalent education/experience.
- YMCA Team Leader or Multi-Team Leader certification preferred.
- Ability to direct programs through supervision of volunteers and staff, development and monitoring of budgets, marketing and public relations, program development, collaborations and fundraising.
- Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Bilingual preferred.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, peers, volunteers, customers and the general public.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions, reason and solve problems.
- Positive, impactful, results oriented leader.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Proven track record of developing authentic and deepened relationships with others.
- CPR and First Aid certifications may be required.
Essential Functions
- Oversee the hiring, training and development of the Methuen Staff, including Facility Director, Youth and Families Director, Part Time Staff, as well as the Association Operations Director of Aquatics.
- Responsible for the building and grounds, infrastructure, and annual operating plan of the Methuen YMCA, maintaining the highest safety standards for the branch.
- In collaboration with the COO and Branch Executive Directors, creates and leads an innovative program strategy for non-child, non-camp with a focus on quality, establishing the Y as a Family Hub in our communities and increasing membership across the association.
- In collaboration with the COO and CFO, develop and manage budgets for the Methuen YMCA and knowledge of the Youth and Families program budget lines across the association.
- Lead association program committee.
- Develop ways to measure impact around relationships, achievement, belonging.
- Lead association program initiatives including but not limited to Jr. Celtics, Healthy Kids Day, Youth and Government, Core Four, Family Nights, Kids Nights Out.
- Work in collaboration with the VP of Philanthropy and Grant Writer to meet all fundraising targets for the Methuen Branch.
- Co-coordinates the Lawrence/Methuen Branch Board of Managers (advisory), which includes recruitment of volunteers, supporting monthly meetings, communicating regularly, engaging with volunteers so that the individuals and group reach their full potential.
- Represents and promotes the YMCA in the local community and develops positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities.
- Develops, maintains, and models collaborative relationships with community agencies in service delivery area.
- Grows and directs high quality relationship-based member and program participant engagement strategies.
- Serves as a member of Y management and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA.
