About the Role
The Branch Executive is accountable for the administration and operation of the new Trenton facility, opening February 2027, in accordance with the policies, procedures, and goals of the Great Miami Valley YMCA. This role reports to the VP.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Non-Profit Management, or related field preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Three or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency.
- Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
- Proven track record of developing authentic and deepened relationships with others.
- Experience directing total operations through volunteer development, staff supervision, budget monitoring, marketing, public relations, and program development.
- Experience in management and development of volunteer involvement; ability to recruit top community leaders.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
- CPR and First Aid certifications required within 30 days of hire.
Responsibilities
- Manages, supervises, trains, and evaluates all key staff and volunteers, assisting in meeting developmental needs.
- Coordinates and facilitates staff meetings and professional development opportunities using performance standards and review procedures.
- Recruits, selects, and maintains diverse advisory boards that actively support the Y’s goals and strategic plans.
- Clarifies and reinforces roles and responsibilities between the Association Board of Trustees, Branch advisory boards, staff, and volunteers.
- Oversees the development of Branch board members and serves as staff officer to Branch boards, committees, and volunteer groups.
- Responsible for annual budget development, monthly monitoring, forecasting, and achieving a balanced budget.
- Maintains systems of financial control, including revenues, expenses, and inventories, in accordance with Association finance policies.
- Ensures safe, clean, and attractive facilities, including maintenance of high-quality grounds and equipment.
- Works to attain annual support campaign goals and collaborates with the Association’s financial development department.
- Secures and maintains records for programs, membership, financials, personnel, and participation.
- Communicates the Y’s community benefit and impact to stakeholders, including staff, volunteers, members, and community leaders.
- Develops positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities.
- Secures sufficient revenue to provide program services and strategizes on revenue growth.
- Develops strategies for building a base of support through endowments.
- Ensures high-quality programs that comply with YMCA standards and methods of operation.
- Responsible for program development in unserved and underserved portions of the service area.
- Collaborates with community leaders and organizations to provide the best opportunities for the community.
- Creates a culture that encourages staff and volunteers to develop new and creative methods of delivering the YMCA’s mission.
