The role focuses on products for data centers but may also include semiconductor, medical, and industrial markets. The Senior Project Engineer will lead customer technical interfaces, manage new product development teams, and work with a cross-functional team of electrical, software, and manufacturing engineers to bring products from concept through production.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with design teams and customers to develop product specifications and evaluate trade-offs between performance, functionality, quality, cost, and schedule.
  • Design mechanical pumping and cooling systems, including pumps, tanks, heat exchangers, fans, and sensors.
  • Develop mechanical schematics and collaborate with electrical engineering on fluid controls.
  • Create and execute verification test plans, write test procedures, and prepare engineering reports.
  • Develop new items and bills of materials (BOMs) for the electrical portion of designs.
  • Manage the mechanical panel portion of new product development, ensuring cost, performance, and schedule goals are met.
  • Actively manage risk mitigation efforts and consult as a subject matter expert (SME) on technical issues across project teams.
  • Provide product support from early concept through production, including failure and root cause analysis.
  • Lead product development teams with a focus on concurrent design, teamwork, and balancing performance, quality, cost, and schedule.
  • Create and maintain program plans, schedules, and deliverables for project teams.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience designing cooling systems with heat exchangers and fans, preferably in data centers.
  • 3+ years of experience leading new product development teams.
  • Working knowledge of engineering tools such as PLM software and MRP systems (Oracle Cloud is a plus).
  • Experience with temperature, pressure, flow, and other sensors.
  • Solid understanding of system testing, debugging, manufacturing, cost optimization, quality, and reliability.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks based on project requirements.
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills, including risk analysis and recommendation development.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
