About the role
The Engineering Technician will play a crucial role in the development of innovative thermal solutions for the enterprise and aerospace/defense industry. The team focuses on understanding entire systems and applying knowledge to create and test new products.
Responsibilities
- Assemble electrical product designs within an interdisciplinary team to address complex product design and manufacturing challenges, including cable fabrication, electronic enclosure wirings, system cable routing, printed circuit board soldering, and wiring quality checks.
- Assemble mechanical system components such as motors, heat exchangers, piping, cable routing, printed circuit board install, rack structures.
- Install electrical components, create and review schematics, perform PCB repair and fabrication, and assist in finding vendors to fabricate designed PCBs.
- Lead testing on new and modified designs.
- Develop and carry out test plans and qualification testing required for production launch.
- Maintain product documentation (drawings and specifications), work instructions, test reports, operating manuals, and test procedures.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 3+ years of relevant work experience in electrical and mechanical part/system assembly and testing.
- Experience with serial data, power, and sensor cable fabrication and quality checks.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s or advanced engineering degree, or equivalent work experience.
- Competent in reading drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
- Demonstrated experience in board-level electronic circuit soldering, including mixed-signal Analog/Digital.
- Comfortable with standard lab equipment: DMM, oscilloscope, signal generators, soldering equipment, general power tools.
- Team player with the ability to handle multiple tasks and demands in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
Qualifications
- Must be located within 50 miles of Fredericksburg, Virginia.
- No relocation offered.
