About the role
The Bottom-Line Operator is responsible for the safe production of quality aerosol can bottoms. Duties include identifying specifications, performing visual and dimensional inspections, preparing for changeovers, arranging materials, verifying stock, completing paperwork, maintaining equipment, conducting quality checks, communicating with previous shifts, and keeping work areas clean.
Responsibilities
- Identify and prepare for scheduled and currently produced bottoms
- Perform immediate visual and dimensional inspection of bottoms
- Arrange necessary materials for changeovers
- Verify slit stock matches current product and compare with Bottom Specs Summary sheet
- Complete daily safety inspections sheets for each press
- Maintain daily operations of stamping presses and perform basic maintenance
- Monitor and troubleshoot uncoils, curlers, compound machines, ovens, and associated equipment
- Conduct routine and periodic quality/SPC checks
- Communicate with previous shift about bottom press operation, maintenance, quality, and safety issues
- Keep work areas clean and organized, adhering to 5-S principles
- Work overtime as needed
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Previous metal stamping machine operation experience preferred
- Able to lift approximately 20 – 40 pounds on a regular basis

- Demonstrate knowledge of general safety protocol and procedures
- Able to work independently, manage projects, and complete assignments in a timely manner
- Self-starter; capable of offering up and making decisions
- Effective oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills
- Team-player with aptitude to learn the ITW culture and work within a fast-paced environment
- Ability to maintain keen vision and mental awareness while practicing careful attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate with team members to support troubleshooting, problem solving, root cause analysis, and related process improvement activities

Pay
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
Schedule
Hours are typically 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
