Reports to the Production Team Leader.
About the role
- Supports production associates in the delivery of plant objectives in safety, quality, cost, delivery, and morale.
- Ensures 5S standards are maintained and that abnormal situations are handled properly.
- Ensures documentation is completed, and Rules of Manufacturing and standard work are followed.
- Fills in for operators that are absent from the production line.
- Leads by example and maintains a professional manner at all times.
Responsibilities
- Ensure 5S standards are maintained and make suggestions on how to improve.
- Ensure each abnormal situation is properly controlled or handled.
- Complete hourly tracking and OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).
- Ensure all documentation is completed on a daily basis (scrap, PM, Poke Yoke, etc.).
- Ensure all Rules of Manufacturing are followed.
- Identify and assist in improving safety concerns.
- Complete required offline inspection for the line.
- Lead teardown associates.
- Assist Team Leader and Supervisor with other duties as needed.
Key metrics
- Accomplishment of set goals, including documentation, organization, and timeliness.
- Production efficiency.
- Safety incidents and occurrences by Department.
- Quality Metrics (Scrap, DPPM, Teardown).
- Bekido/Chokko Results.
- 5S compliance.
- Ability to identify and suggest improvement activities.
Work environment
- The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- May occasionally work in hot or cold temperatures.
- May occasionally walk on slippery or uneven surfaces.
Qualifications
- Preferred one year of employment at Douglas Autotech prior to appointment.
- Good attendance and work record.
- Experienced in problem solving and reporting (8-D, PR/R, QR, etc.).
- Ability to work with others.
- Computer literate.
- Good communication skills (both oral and written).
- Team player.
- Self-motivated.
- Willing to travel.
- Must complete B-Operator Training and pass B-Operator Test with 100% score within 90 days.
- Preferred individuals with mechanical backgrounds or who have mechanical abilities.
Physical demands
- Prolonged periods of standing and performing repetitive tasks.
- Must be able to lift up to 32 pounds at a time.
- Must have manual dexterity in order to assemble products or machines as directed.
- Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to differentiate between colored wires, tabs, and electronic components.
- Must wear gloves, safety glasses, safety shoes, and ear protection, per the Elemental Operations Instructions Safety Points.
Schedule
This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. This position regularly requires extended hours and possible weekend work.
Travel
Travel may be required.
