Bookkeeper

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting processes.
• Record financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts and defining bookkeeping policies and procedures.
• Maintain and balance the general ledger by preparing a trial balance and reconciling entries.
• Process accounts payable and receivable in a timely and accurate manner.
• Conduct regular bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
• Absorb and prepare financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
• Prepare and submit weekly and monthly financial reports.
• Manage payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Support the preparation of tax returns and collaborate with external accountants as needed.

Qualifications

• Proven professional experience as a Bookkeeper or in a comparable accounting role.
• A solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles is essential.
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and MS Office, particularly Excel.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• The ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• A relevant qualification or certification in accounting or bookkeeping is highly desirable.

Pay

A competitive hourly wage of $30 - $49 USD, commensurate with experience.
