About the role
The Bookkeeper reports to the General Manager. This position is responsible for various tasks including but not limited to:
- Collecting rent and maintaining delinquency levels
- Maintaining all resident financial records
- Processing all invoices
- Maintaining accurate resident information in Entrata
- Updating daily rents, deposits and application fees
- Issuing notices for late payments, evictions, returned checks and memos
- Assisting in rent collection and receipt preparation
- Depositing all receipts before bank closing
- Updating daily reports on notices to vacate, vacancy reports, activity reports, etc.
- Filing and organizing all applicable reports, leases and paperwork
- Accepting service requests from residents and following up with maintenance
- Compiling and delivering late notices and legal notices
- Printing monthly delinquency reports and informing the General Manager
- Collaborating with legal counsel and General Manager on legal proceedings
- Answering telephones as needed
- Setting up new residents and depositing all moneys
- Entering vendor information and invoices into the computer system and sending to Corporate for payment
- Following up on security deposit upgrades and processing refunds
- Maintaining logs and general office files
- Assisting in preparing monthly reports
- Ordering supplies within budgeted guidelines
- Maintaining general vendor files
Requirements
- A high school diploma
- Accurate typing and record keeping
- Computer skills and math ability
- Working knowledge of Entrata (preferred)
- Ability to follow through with paperwork and meet deadlines
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with accuracy
