Location: Miami, FL • Employment Type: Full‑Time

About the role

We are seeking a Bone Density / DEXA Technologist to join a well-established outpatient imaging team in the Miami area. This is a primarily DEXA-focused position offering a consistent weekday schedule, steady patient volume, and the opportunity to work in a professional patient-centered imaging environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an ARRT-certified Radiologic Technologist with bone density experience who is looking for a dedicated DEXA position with regular daytime hours. ARRT certification is required. The additional ARRT Bone Densitometry credential, ARRT(BD), is preferred but is NOT required at the time of hire. Candidates with mammography certification or experience are especially encouraged to apply, as additional cross‑training and growth opportunities may be available.

Responsibilities

  • Perform DEXA / bone density examinations while maintaining high standards for image quality and patient care.
  • Properly position patients and follow established bone densitometry imaging protocols.
  • Review images for quality and accuracy before completion.
  • Maintain accurate patient and examination documentation.
  • Follow radiation safety, infection control, and department procedures.
  • Work within a steady outpatient environment with patients generally scheduled in 20‑minute appointment intervals.
  • Provide professional and compassionate care while clearly explaining procedures to patients.
  • Occasionally assist with general X‑ray coverage in an emergency or as operationally necessary; however, DEXA is the primary focus of this position.

Qualifications

  • Current ARRT certification required.
  • Experience performing DEXA / bone density examinations strongly preferred.
  • ARRT(BD) Bone Densitometry certification is a plus, but not required at hire.
  • Experience with Hologic DEXA equipment is a strong plus.
  • General diagnostic X‑ray experience is beneficial.
  • Strong patient‑care and communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a steady‑volume outpatient imaging environment.
  • Strong attention to positioning, image quality, documentation, and patient safety.

Schedule

Monday–Friday: 7:45 AM–4:00 PM. This position offers a consistent weekday schedule with no routine lifting requirements. Patients who require physical assistance are expected to arrive with appropriate support.
