Bone Density Technologist

About the role

The Bone Density Technologist plays a crucial role in evaluating bone mineral density and supporting patient care. This position involves performing diagnostic DEXA scans, operating radiographic equipment, maintaining procedural documentation, and assisting in various imaging modalities.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate interest in meeting patient needs and assuring patient satisfaction.
• Operate knowledge of radiographic equipment.
• Performs all bone density procedures.
• Maintains certification and licensure as well as continuing education.
• Assists in the management of procedures through the coordination of resources.
• Ensures procedures performed are in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Performs warm-up calibration procedures necessary to ready the equipment for patient imaging.
• Affords assistance in the procurement of necessary supplies.
• Notifies the manager of any equipment needing repair to ensure prompt service.
• Contributes to a positive climate and open communication for a team approach.

Requirements

• Demonstrate commitment to excellence in patient care and exceptional customer service.
• Knowledge of radiographic equipment.
• Computer background with application understanding, especially RIS/PACS software knowledge.
• Strong desire to learn and eager to take on new responsibilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, highly professional environment.
