Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Bonding Mill Operator plays a key role in meeting department goals through machine set-up, quality maintenance, production target achievement, and equipment troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Handle coils by removing them from skids, loading coils to the payoff, and measuring gauge and width of the material with measuring devices.
- Set up the designated Bonding Mill by interpreting process sheets, setting machine parameters, and applying lubrication.
- Adjust and correct machine set-ups to reduce thicknesses, reshape products, and eliminate product defects.
- Examine, inspect, and measure raw materials and finished products to verify conformance to specifications.
- Read production orders, blueprints, and mill schedules to determine setup specifications, work sequences, product dimensions, and installation procedures.
- Control and observe dial indicators to monitor, adjust, and regulate speeds of machine mechanisms.
- Collaborate with Scheduling and Maintenance departments regarding production issues.
- Perform data entry into the SAP software system.
Requirements
- At least 3+ years of previous manufacturing experience.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with performing multiple complex set-ups.
- Technical training is preferred but not required.
- Experience in a metals industrial setting preferred.
- Experience using micrometers and other precision measurement tools.
- Previous bonding mill machine operating experience preferred.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret reports, manuals, and technical procedures.
Pay
24.65 to 35.30 USD hourly. The range may vary depending on experience, education, geographic location, and other qualifications.
