The ideal candidate will be dependable, safety-minded, mechanically inclined, and willing to learn all aspects of boiler and fuel-handling operations.

Pay

$24.62 per hour

Job Duties

  • Operate front-end loaders and conveyor controls to transport fuel to boilers
  • Assist with the operation and maintenance of the hog fuel system
  • Perform basic water chemistry testing
  • Read and accurately log information from water meters, gauges, sight glasses, and other equipment
  • Change water and air filters as needed
  • Assist with repairs to boilers, piping, valves, gauges, and related equipment
  • Monitor fuel inventories including wood chips, sawdust, shavings, and bark
  • Report fuel conditions and operational concerns to the Power Plant Operator
  • Follow all plant safety procedures and operating guidelines

Qualifications

  • Experience operating heavy equipment preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn boiler operations
  • Ability to work rotating day and night shifts
  • Strong attention to detail and record-keeping skills
  • Ability to work in an industrial environment and around moving equipment
  • Dependable attendance and strong safety awareness
