Body Worn Camera Technician - Part Time

About the role

The Body Worn Camera Technician provides non-enforcement, administrative, technical support and services to the Police Department’s Body Worn Camera (BWC) Program. The position has a primary responsibility for fulfilling public records requests and video redaction. Assigned responsibilities require a timely and professional response.

Responsibilities

• Responds to public records requests for body worn camera footage
• Performs video redactions in accordance with the Colorado Criminal Justice Records Act
• Maintains accurate records and chain of custody for body worn camera evidence
• Assists with the preparation and distribution of reports and correspondence
• Operates and maintains body worn camera equipment and software
• Provides customer service and assists with inquiries
• Facilitates the quality assurance of body worn camera audit functions

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Two (2) years of experience in the use of personal computers and copying software
• Knowledge of the Central Square records management and computer aided dispatch systems
• Possession of a valid driver’s license

Qualifications

• Video editing and redacting experience preferred
