Body Technician/Painter

About the role

Kansas City Peterbilt is seeking experienced Body Shop Technicians for its growing Body Shop Department. The ideal candidate should have one year or more experience as a Body Shop Technician, Mechanic, or Collision Repair.

Responsibilities

• Complete major and minor body repairs.
• Perform fiberglass repairs.
• Perform aluminum body panel repairs and replacement.
• Perform steel and aluminum welding.
• Accurately and completely inspect vehicles (DOT, PM, Quality Control).
• Diagnose and repair ABS, HVAC, electrical systems, air brakes, wheel ends, suspension, and steering.
• Adhere to warranty policies and procedures.
• Use electronic technical manuals and resources for diagnosis and repair.
• Provide accurate documentation on repair orders.

Requirements

• Heavy lifting required.
• CDL preferred.
• One year or more of Body Shop / Collision Repair / Mechanic experience (preferred).
• Strong communication skills.
• Promote and maintain a positive, team-oriented, and customer-focused attitude.
• Willingness to listen and follow directions/advisement from leadership team.
• Understand the importance of safety in the work environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to use electronic technical manuals and resources for diagnosis and repair.
• Accurately document repair orders.
