Responsibilities
- Act as the technical and disciplinary lead of the production group.
- Oversee, organize, and coordinate all work content of the group to meet production and quality targets.
- Motivate, support, develop, and challenge team members to reach their optimal potential.
- Manage communication flow to the team and to management.
- Drive continuous improvement in production processes, efficiency, product quality, environment, and ergonomics.
- Identify trouble areas and resolve issues, including ordering materials or spare parts as needed.
- Administer company policies and procedures.
- Assume ownership and accountability for personnel management, including evaluations, coaching, counseling, resource planning, and team building.
- Coordinate schedules, workflow, vacation, employee shifts, qualifications, and schedules.
- Provide feedback to involved departments to improve overall plant performance.
- Prepare and present reports based on data to management and other stakeholders.
- Introduce measures for positive employee development and resolve complex employee issues.
- Facilitate and participate in regularly scheduled meetings.
- Directly supervise multiple team leaders and indirectly manage 30-50 associates in an automotive facility.
- Engage in project management and workshop involvement.
Requirements
- High School Diploma and 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field is desired.
- For internal employees: Successful completion of PV-45 or currently fulfilling the position of Group Leader.
Skills
- Automotive industry experience is a plus, particularly in Body Shop, welding, or supervisory roles.
- Highly flexible with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and computer skills.
- Able to problem-solve and apply "root cause analysis."
- Experience in welding technologies such as MIG, MAG, spot, and laser welding is preferred.
