Body Journeyman

About the role

The Body Journeyman at Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is responsible for performing all functions of a fully qualified heavy-duty truck repair Bodyman under minimal supervision. This role involves skilled and complex body work on heavy-duty truck equipment and related components, troubleshooting major problems, training apprentice Bodymen, maintaining a neat working area, advising the Shop Foreman on additional repair needs, and fostering good customer relations.

Responsibilities

• Performs skilled and complicated body work on heavy-duty truck equipment and related components with minimal supervision.
• Trains and helps train apprentice Bodymen.
• Maintains a neat and orderly working area and proper handling of company tools.
• Advises the Shop Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
• Works with customers to maintain favorable relations.

Requirements

• CDL preferred.
• Minimum of five years experience in truck body repair or other applied body repair service.
• Positive can-do attitude.
• Necessary tools required to perform position responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform tasks that may require the operating, repairing, maintaining, or monitoring of heavy equipment, machinery, aircraft, motorized watercraft, or motor vehicles, or handling of hazardous materials and/or waste as part of the job duties.

Skills

• Skilled in heavy-duty truck body repair.
