About the role
The Boat & ATV Sales Consultant performs selling and customer-service activities to assist customers in making informed buying decisions while supporting a strong commitment to world-class service and a pleasant shopping experience.
Responsibilities
- Engage all customers in a friendly and timely manner upon entry to the department.
- Meet with potential customers to determine their boating and/or ATV needs and provide information necessary for informed buying decisions.
- Maintain current product knowledge using available resources such as brochures, the Internet, and training meetings.
- Stay aware of advertised items, current pricing, and promotions.
- Follow all selling-skills training and direction.
- Work cooperatively with the Service Department to ensure seamless delivery to the customer.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive and personal information.
- Prepare the showroom each morning: ensure proper signage, clean and presentable products in sellable condition, and maintain product integrity and cleanliness throughout the day.
- Generate and manage leads and prospects in the provided CRM tool daily, including entering new customers and documenting follow-up activities and daily tasks before and after the sale.
- Participate in special events such as boat shows and parking-lot events.
- Accurately complete all necessary paperwork within the selling process.
- Meet and exceed pre-determined individual monthly sales goals based on employment status, scheduled hours and days, length of employment, historical sales, etc.
- Maintain a clean and professional work area and follow all company policies and procedures.
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent experience.
Skills
- Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and percentages.
- Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner with customers and associates.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
- Ability to operate a computer system and point-of-sale register system.
Physical requirements
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Stands for extended periods.
Pay
Starting pay rate: $14.00 – $16.75 per hour.
