About the Organization

Monumental Impact is a 501(c)(3) Colorado nonprofit serving high school students through adults as a community makerspace. Also known as MITEE—Monumental Impact for Technology, Engineering and Entrepreneurship—we connect youth and community members with career pathways in technology, engineering, and entrepreneurship. Through programs, equipment, mentorship, workspace, and real-world experiences, we empower people to explore, create, and compete.

Vision: A community where people of all ages gain the skills, confidence, and opportunities to explore emerging technologies, build meaningful projects, and contribute as innovators, entrepreneurs, and leaders.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, guidance, and oversight for Monumental Impact’s mission and long-term direction
• Build community relationships with businesses, civic leaders, schools, nonprofits, foundations, and potential sponsors
• Support fundraising efforts through introductions, sponsorship outreach, donor cultivation, grant connections, and community advocacy
• Help identify opportunities that strengthen our makerspace, entrepreneurship programs, career readiness efforts, and community impact
• Participate in board meetings, planning discussions, and organizational decision-making
• Serve as an ambassador for Monumental Impact in the Tri-Lakes and greater Colorado Springs region

Requirements

We are especially interested in individuals who bring experience, relationships, or interest in areas such as:

• Fundraising, sponsorships, grants, or donor development
• Business, entrepreneurship, manufacturing, technology, or engineering
• Education, workforce development, youth development, or career readiness
• Community leadership, nonprofit governance, finance, legal, marketing, or operations
• Local business and civic networks that can help expand Monumental Impact’s reach

Prior nonprofit board experience is helpful, but not required. A willingness to engage, make introductions, and help move the mission forward matters most.

Term

Board Member terms are two years, beginning in July.
