Role Overview

The Titles Compliance Specialist supports the Titles Department by assisting with title‑related projects, coordinating daily operational activities, and helping ensure adherence to state and federal requirements. Under the direction of the Titles Compliance Manager, this role contributes to the development and implementation of policies, business processes, and operational improvements. The Specialist also provides support for initiatives involving title operations, court summons, and other specialized projects.

Salary

The salary for this position traditionally starts at $42,900.00 but may be commensurate with education and work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating, reviewing, and maintaining program workflows to ensure they align with statutory requirements and help identify potential compliance risks.
  • Support the updating of policies, procedures, forms, and manuals by drafting recommended changes and coordinating inputs based on legislative updates or audit findings.
  • Participate in system design discussions and user acceptance testing by reviewing requirements for compliance implications and documenting issues for the Compliance Manager.
  • Serve as a supporting point of contact for audit teams by gathering requested documentation, coordinating responses, and preparing materials under the direction of the Compliance Manager.
  • Conduct preliminary internal compliance reviews and summarize findings to help identify potential gaps prior to formal audits.
  • Draft initial compliance guidance and documentation for review and approval by the Compliance Manager and other leadership.
  • Monitor legislative changes and prepare summaries or impact notes to assist in translating new requirements into operational updates.
  • Prepare routine reports, dashboards, or summaries that highlight compliance activities, trends, and potential risks for review by the Compliance Manager.
  • Provide technical assistance to training teams by reviewing draft training materials and verifying they reflect compliant processes, escalating concerns as needed.
  • Collaborate with legal, IT, operations, and external partners to gather information, troubleshoot issues, and support resolution of compliance concerns under the direction of the Compliance Manager.
  • Identifies continuous improvement methods to identify gaps in agency resources such as procedural manuals and policies.
  • Assists with BMV operating system (STARS) transaction programming business rules.
  • Assists with agency initiatives and special projects related to title programs.
  • Assists with implementing new title programs and required operational transitioning.
  • Serves as a point of contact for the Titles Department for all internal and external customer service. Responds to phone calls, emails, and other correspondence daily.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
