About the role

The Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and the Emory University Department of Pediatrics invite applications for an outstanding independent scientist position specializing in Blood and Marrow Transplantation. This position will join our faculty as an open rank position with or without tenure.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the excellence of our academic community through innovative research and mentorship.
  • Join one of the country's strongest pediatric cancer outcomes programs, ranked No. 12 in the nation for Pediatric Cancer by US News and World Report.
  • Work collaboratively to expand and strengthen current collaborations with investigators from other divisions and departments at Emory, Georgia Tech, Georgia State, and the Morehouse School of Medicine.

Requirements

  • MD, MD/PhD, or PhD degree
  • If MD, must be Board Certified in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology
  • If MD, must be currently licensed as a physician and eligible for licensure as a physician in the State of Georgia
  • A strong history of mentorship of trainees and junior faculty
  • A strong record of scholarship and proven success in obtaining extramural funding
  • A research focus that complements and builds on our existing foundation

Qualifications

  • A strong history of mentorship of trainees and junior faculty to support growth in research and scholarship
  • A history of academic excellence/achievement
  • A strong record of scholarship and proven success in obtaining extramural funding to conduct independent research within a defined area of investigation that relates to BMT and/or cellular therapies
  • A willingness to work collaboratively to expand and strengthen current collaborations with investigators from other divisions and departments at Emory, Georgia Tech, Georgia State, and the Morehouse School of Medicine

Skills

Pay

The salary range for this position is $150,000 - $200,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

The position requires in-person work at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion.
