About the role
The Department of Medicine at The University of Wisconsin and the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center (UWCCC) is recruiting an exceptional hematology physician scientist.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care at UW Health locations in Madison, including ambulatory, inpatient and consult service attending.
- Proactively support efforts to improve diversity in clinical trial participants.
- Develop and teach a research or education program and engage in related scholarly activity.
- Participate in clinical teaching of fellows, residents and medical students.
- Engage in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health.
- Work in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.
Requirements
- Board certification or board eligibility in Hematology/Oncology or Hematology by the appointment start date.
- American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) Certification required.
- Eligible for enrollment as a billing provider and for all necessary hospital privileges by the appointment start date.
Qualifications
- Experience in an academic medical setting preferred.
- Appointment as Associate Professor or Professor rank on the Tenure Track requires meeting criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the Tenure Track.
- Interest in bone marrow transplant and cellular therapies.
- Experience in clinical, translational or basic science research, with a track record of successful publications in peer-reviewed journals, strong written and verbal communication skills, evidence of excellence in teaching and current or high potential to obtain extramural funding.
