About the role
The BMET II position at RWJBarnabas Health Corporate Services within the Clinical Engineering Department is responsible for diagnosing, servicing, and ensuring the safety of medical equipment. This role also involves assisting clinical staff, participating in regulatory compliance, and managing medical equipment recalls.
Responsibilities
- Conducts preventive maintenance inspections using appropriate productivity & quality measures.
- Effectively responds to service requests, troubleshoots & repairs medical equipment using established productivity & quality measures, demonstrating good judgment on performing component vs. circuit board level repairs.
- Inspects new medical devices & equipment with competence appropriate to job proficiency level.
- Affords assistance to the Manager in maintaining and fulfilling the department/organization’s regulatory requirements and goals.
- Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of shop safety on the use of departmental electronic test equipment.
- Participates in On Call duties after normal working hours.
- Upon assignment, assists the Manager in responding to/correcting medical equipment recalls/device alerts from manufactures and/or FDA.
- Assists the Manager in giving medical equipment in-services to both operational and technical staff for specified medical devices.
Requirements
- Minimum AAS degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology or equivalent work/military experience in Biomedical Engineering.
- 3 to 7 years of hands on experience, preferred.
- Medical equipment manufacture certification, preferred.
- Advance knowledge of electronic test equipment.
- Developed troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge and function of various medical devices.
- Knowledge of MS-Office and other computer applications.
- Understands Medical terminology.
- Knowledge of computers and networks.
- Lifesupport/lifesaving equipment manufacture certification, preferred.
- Eligible for AAMI/ICC certification.
Qualifications
Qualifications include but are not limited to:

Pay
The anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey is $34.90 - $47.11 per hour.
Schedule
The shift is a Day shift.
