Responsibilities
- Properly respond to service calls to evaluate, diagnose, repair and perform planned maintenance (PM) on complex biomedical equipment.
- Evaluate complex biomedical equipment issues, implement appropriate repairs; perform planned maintenance (PM), safety and environmental inspections and maintain effective department relations.
- Follow as well as guide others as needed regarding appropriate hospital policies, procedures, hospital protocol and complete necessary documentation.
- Order replacement parts and complete all associated paperwork involved in the repair of medical equipment.
- Analytical and communication skills with the ability to communicate technical issues to the hospital staff in an easy to understand manner.
- Communicate with technical representatives from vendor companies and administrative department heads from other facilities.
- Rotate after hours call and be able to respond within a two hour window.
Requirements
- Associates degree or higher formal training in electronics.
- Three (3) or more years experience in medical electronics service and repair.
- Certified Biomedical Electronics Technician (CBET) desired.
- Possess the ability to read electrical/mechanical schematics and follow signal flow in complex circuits.
- Use basic and advanced test equipment and hand tools proficiently.
- Physically able to climb ladders, lift heavy objects and work in awkward positions.
- High degree of manual dexterity.
