Blueprint Reviewer / CAD Technician

About the role

Suncoast Post-Tension Ltd, a Keller Company, is an established post tension and rebar manufacturing company with over 30 years of experience. We supply construction-related materials to builders from eight manufacturing facilities in the US. We are currently seeking a CAD Drafter / Detailer to join our team near Houston, TX.

Responsibilities

• Create drawing submittal schedules based on customer's construction requirements and monitor progress to maintain schedule.
• Identify and implement solutions for construction problems.
• Produce installation drawings and calculations according to contract documents.
• Apply revisions to placement drawings and calculations based on comments on approved drawings and/or structural revisions.
• Identify revisions requiring contract change orders.
• Support material takeoffs for change order processes.
• Issue placement drawings for construction before material fabrication.
• Support material takeoffs and provide backup for fabrication through CAD software.
• Outline post tension types, cable lengths, cable abundance, cable elongation, strand lists, cable stressing directions, structure size, trench width, cable spacing, detail markers, reference dimensions, construction joint placement, and rebar use areas.
• Maintain electronic copies of all submittals and correspondence according to company policy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of relevant experience or an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction, or a related field.
• Strong organizational skills; reliable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with computers and technical software.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Strong math abilities and multitasking skills.
• Ability to read and interpret plans.
• Solid technical aptitude.
• Commercial awareness and judgment.
• High attention to detail.
• A proactive, "get-it-done" mindset.
• Ability to meet tight schedules and deadlines.
