CAD Technician/Designer

B&N CAD Technician/Designer Responsibilities

• Support engineers and senior CAD designers with transportation projects in Ohio and other regions
• Aid engineers and CAD designers with transportation projects through tasks such as drafting and design, creation / editing of technical drawings and materials for submittal packages
• Assist in completing engineering calculations using Microsoft Excel
• Create construction specifications using Microsoft Word
• Assist in training lower-level CAD technicians on MicroStation/OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD/Civil 3D, plan production, and best practices

Skills & Qualifications

• Proficiency in either MicroStation/OpenRoads or AutoCAD/Civil 3D required
• Vocational school or associate degree in related program preferred. Civil Engineering Technician preferred
• Experience in plan development for public agencies, counties and/or municipalities
• Ability to train staff in MicroStation/OpenRoads or AutoCAD/Civil 3D design / production a plus
• Ability to take verbal direction and implement into drawings and calculations to produce the final work
• Good communication skills, team player and detail oriented with a strong understanding of plan clarity
• Interest in training staff and supporting the growth of Transportation CADD team as a company resource for roadway, traffic, drainage and other discipline production efforts
