Primary Position Objective

Brief Description of Duties

  • Captures and coordinates Center purchasing through planning and budget control
  • Justifies service selections through competitive pricing guidelines in accordance with FAR and Serrato Corporation procurement policies and procedures
  • Verifies purchase request terminology and specifications
  • Creates statement of work for construction, services, and supplies, including the bidding package
  • Compares prices, specifications, and delivery dates, and awards contract to the supplier with the best bid
  • Maintains purchase orders, researches potential vendors, and performs other purchasing-related actions using a computer system
  • Ensures proper record and file maintenance
  • Confers with suppliers regarding late deliveries
  • Works towards meeting performance management goals
  • Fulfills daily responsibilities within CDSS plan and Code of Conduct system
  • Evaluates personnel under his/her management and makes recommendations regarding disciplinary actions, promotions, and/or merit increases
  • Maintains adherence to property control policies and procedures
  • Maintains good housekeeping in all areas and complies with safety practices
  • Complies with all DOL guidelines, OFCCP regulations, Quality Assurance Plan (QAP), Serrato policies and procedures, Job Corps notices and bulletins, and Center policies and procedures
  • Demonstrates and abides by Serrato Corporation's core values and operating principles
  • Models, mentors, and monitors appropriate Career Success Standards
  • Helps students become more employable through continuous reinforcement
  • Participation in PRH mandated staff training is mandatory. Failure to participate may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel
  • Computer literacy with basic computer functions, email, internet, and basic programs such as Adobe Acrobat
  • Strong negotiation skills, analytical skills, and decision-making skills
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all input
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with vendors

Experience

  • One-year purchasing, marketing, sales, or related experience required
  • One-year supervisory experience preferred

Education

  • Associate's degree in business, finance, marketing, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and training
  • Bachelor's degree preferred

Certificates/Licenses/Registration

  • Valid State Driver's License
