Blending Supervisor

About the role

Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Blending department. Plans, coordinates, controls, and reviews activities in the department to support production goals, maintain quality system, ensure safety of employees, and protect the environment. Leads, motivates, and develops team members.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, prioritizes, and assigns work within the department
  • Sets deadlines to ensure timely completion of work
  • Prepares reports to monitor and manage departmental objectives and KPIs
  • Directs the day-to-day operations of the blending department
  • Provides for the efficient processing of completed products
  • Adheres to budget requirements and works toward obtaining objectives and division goals
  • Responsible for technical problem solving, operational improvements, and efficiency improvements to reduce operating costs
  • Performs periodic review of all SOPs to keep abreast of updates or revisions
  • Reviews batch production records for accuracy
  • Ensures that all procedures described in SOPs are followed in accordance with company policies and GMP requirements
  • Oversees documentation and records for the department
  • Acts as a liaison between the blending department and other departments within the company
  • Collaborates with other departments to accomplish tasks/goals
  • Identifies, assesses, implements process improvements or projects
  • Suggests/implements process improvement, equipment PM, cost down, or best practices
  • Coordinates with maintenance planners to maintain a clean and safe work environment

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • 4-year degree in related field, or 5+ years of production experience in food/feed manufacturing environment is required
  • Supervisory experience preferred

Qualifications

  • High degree of scientific and technical proficiency with a willingness to troubleshoot issues
  • Excellent verbal and written communications and computer skills (Microsoft Office, SAP, etc.)
  • Ability to transfer technical knowledge to practical applications
  • Ability to lead and manage teams, maintaining a high level of morale and discipline

Skills

  • Required flexibility of work schedule and ability to work overtime as needed (occasional call-ins)

Monday-Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
