About the role
The Blending Supervisor oversees and coordinates activities of team members engaged in performing chemical and lubricant blends, tank hook-ups, and chemical or physical quality control testing. This individual is also tasked with the ongoing training and development of the blending processes, ensuring all safety procedures are observed and leading and inspiring team building advancement.
Responsibilities
- Establish and assign team member work duties to meet production requirements. Maintain time and production records.
- Continually monitor fluid locations for optimal storage efficiencies.
- Ensure laboratory equipment and instruments are efficiently operated according to company procedures.
- Inspect products regularly to verify conformance to specifications.
- Supervise team members to enable growth and success through feedback, training, and encouragement. Establish performance expectations and provide regular feedback and performance reviews.
- Maintain an open and candid working relationship with immediate supervisor/manager.
- Evaluate processes, make recommendations, and implement improvements to optimize efficiency. Establish and document standard operating procedures and ensure adherence.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts to reduce costs or increase productivity without reducing effectiveness. Apply lean manufacturing tools and methodology to lead team in continuous improvement activities.
- Adhere to established company values, practices, policies, and procedures. Follow and support compliance with all applicable safety rules, laws, regulations, and standards. Encourage safe practices and promptly resolve violations, including initiating rewards and discipline as needed.
- Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance at the assigned work location.
Requirements
- Demonstrate strong mechanical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Lead and inspire team members; must be able to relate to and build team working relationships.
- Use good judgement when making decisions.
- Operate a computer and demonstrate PC proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Effectively and professionally communicate with co-workers, team members, and internal or external customers. Present information clearly and accurately.
- Pay attention to details and pursue quality in accomplishing work duties and tasks. Look for opportunities to reduce costs or increase productivity without reducing effectiveness.

Qualifications
- Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or a combination of related work experience and college course work which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the above duties.
- May be required to obtain a forklift license through Highline Warren Distribution.
- Good mechanical aptitude and ability to learn how to perform simple maintenance tasks.
