About the Role

The Blender will ensure the proper blend of concentrates according to customer specifications, maintaining food safety and quality for all manufactured products. This role reports to the QA Supervisor and is based in Springdale, Arkansas.

Responsibilities

  • Read and follow blending guidelines as set forth on a formula sheet to adhere to company and customer specifications.
  • Match color, flavor, and other quality attributes of juice to control standards; weigh and pump ingredients for batch.
  • Perform quality checks before releasing batch for production, including brix, acid, pH, sensory, and color; adjust batches to meet specifications.
  • Use computer touch screens to fill batch tanks with bulk ingredients and research inventory needs.
  • Use hand-held scanners to batch formulas and resolve all errors related to batches.
  • Perform sanitation of tanks and rooms; move empty drums/totes/bins for disposal or storage.
  • Ensure food safety, food quality, and regulatory compliance for the position.
  • Notify management about actual or potential food safety issues.
  • Adopt and maintain all SQF requirements for the position.
  • Work with supervision to resolve food safety and food quality issues within scope of work.
  • Taste test product as needed (up to a couple ounces per test).
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Six months of manufacturing experience; blender experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in mathematics, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and interpretation of bar graphs.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Blender and production experience.
  • Forklift certification.
  • Experience in the food/beverage industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong time management and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
  • Credibility, integrity, and ability to build professional relationships.
  • Ability to train others as needed.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Frequent: Ability to talk and hear; stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend, and/or crouch; push/pull; lift up to 50 pounds; use hands and fingers to operate machinery/equipment. Exposure to wet, humid conditions and seasonal temperature fluctuations.
  • Occasional: Squatting, kneeling, reaching above and at shoulder height. Ability to wear a dust mask and perform confined entry using LOTO program. Exposure to toxic and corrosive chemicals.

Schedule

Sunday–Tuesday: 6:00 PM–6:00 AM
Wednesday: 6:00 PM–12:00 AM
Off Days: Thursday–Saturday
