Blender Operator - 3rd Shift (10:45PM - 7:00AM)

About the role

The Blender Operator is responsible for the charging of hand adds to the blenders, verifying the lot numbers and weights of raw materials, staging the necessary raw materials, reviewing production schedule, and following customer’s packaging instructions.

Responsibilities

• Learn Line 4 Blending area or fill in on another job when needed.
• Verify all TA item code numbers and record all lot numbers of staged materials on the batch card.
• Clean and inspect the blender to ensure it is ready for the next charge.
• Compound charge, stage necessary raw materials, and prepare the blender for the next charge.
• Charge all hand adds to the blender as specified by the batch card.
• Report any variations from procedures to supervision and document these variations on the batch card.
• Coordinate blender production with other areas of operation.
• Review the production schedule and follow customer packaging instructions.
• Properly pack, label, weigh, and seal all product.
• Report any schedule, instruction, or potential problems to the Bagger Leadman.
• Generate labels and align and affix them to the package container.
• Perform changeovers of packaging equipment in a timely, efficient, and safe manner, utilizing required safety equipment.
• Communicate with mill area operators after changeover completion.
• Prepare packaging materials to meet future shift schedule requirements (e.g., Gaylords, Supersacks, etc.).
• Scan/enter finished product into the computer system.
• Practice good housekeeping and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Meet or exceed all plant key performance indicators.
• Participate in and help sustain Lean Manufacturing initiatives.

• Able to drive (or learn to drive) a forklift and electric hand truck.
