About the role

This position involves bringing raw materials to production lines, removing finished products, lifting cases onto pallets, managing resin, and operating blending systems. The role also requires working closely with packers to support the production process.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to Amcor Rigid Plastics Safety and Quality policies and procedures.
  • Receive instructions from previous and current shift Quality Technicians to determine material formulations needed for the shift.
  • Collect virgin, regrind, and colorant materials to prepare necessary formula mixtures.
  • Place pre-determined amounts of virgin regrind and colorants into drums secured on the blender.
  • Activate the blender following all manufacturing and safety instructions, visually inspecting the mixture for even blend and proper mixing.
  • Deliver the drum to the appropriate machine.
  • Perform regrinding activities, dumping full bins into a regrind drum, and inspecting for contamination.
  • Inspect and remove excess production from manufacturing and store it in the Production Area.
  • Report Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) as necessary.
  • Perform all safety checks and necessary preventative maintenance on the blender before operation.
  • Fill in as a Packer as needed, performing tasks such as visually inspecting bottles for defects, placing them in appropriate containers, and reporting non-conforming issues.
  • Keep assigned work area clean, neat, organized, and free from safety hazards.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, preferred or 3 years Material Services / Operator experience.
  • Previous experience with assembly, hand packing, and visual inspections.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Basic math, computer, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge about plastics, colors, and additives is preferred.
  • Ability to recognize and understand numbers, enter information accurately into an online database, and document customer paperwork correctly.
  • Strong mathematical ability, ability to visually distinguish fine variations in color and other visual defects, proficient hand/eye coordination, ability to make priority decisions and independent judgments, ability to use a computer and related software, ability to work all shifts and required overtime.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent carrying of greater than 20 pounds up to 50 pounds; occasional lifting 100 pounds with assistance or moving dolly.
  • Frequent standing, walking on concrete floors, bending, turning, twisting, kneeling, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching out and up, turning wrists, grasping, pinching, and having finger manipulations.
  • Multitasking multiple lines and effectively working with co-workers.
  • Physically moving including climbing, lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, bending, etc. (up to 25 lbs.).
  • Climbing up and down stairs and ladders is required.
  • Using a Pallet Jack.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Starting Wage

$21.35/hr
