About the role

Blend and mix juice from concentrate and base at a high rate of speed, ensuring high quality and efficient operation. The Blender operates mixing machines to blend ingredients into compounds for processing, loads ingredients into mixers, weighs and measures ingredients, and cleans and sanitizes mixer machines.

Schedule

  • 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM or 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM
  • 2/2/3 rotating schedule

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety procedures and work as safely as possible at all times.
  • Maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).
  • Follow strict guidelines, processes, and procedures to ensure accuracy.
  • Operate machines including scales, processing systems, hoists, pumps, and related equipment.
  • Complete blend sheets, blend logs, and shift pass-downs.
  • Understand, record, and communicate product description, formulas, and codes.
  • Stage and verify ingredients for blending, including:
    • Verifying batch documentation and identifying discrepancies.
    • Assembling, weighing, and performing blend calculations (including metric conversions).
    • Properly handling partial ingredients and recording data.
  • Follow established blend procedures, including:
    • Verifying formula at control panel and comparing recipe quantities.
    • Performing reverse osmosis (RO) water conductivity and Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) tests.
    • Mixing ingredients per instructions, sampling, testing, and adding ingredients to premix tank.
  • Input new recipes, start/stop blending process, and verify new recipes in the Blend System.
  • Clean in Place (CIP) Blend Tanks and operate and CIP Ratio Blender.
  • Understand batch hold times and plan batching schedule.
  • Troubleshoot issues with the blend system.
  • Follow all spill policies and procedures.
  • Safely operate baler and foamer.
  • Follow recycling procedures for plastics, drums, and pallets.
  • Maintain a clean work area.
  • Foster a positive work atmosphere with customers, co-workers, and management.
  • Work scheduled shift, weekends, and extended hours as required; maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • One year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Computer literacy and math proficiency.
  • Forklift certification.
  • English proficiency; Spanish is a plus.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Rarely sits; continuously uses hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, twist, push, pull, stoop, kneel, squat, and crawl.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
  • Regularly push, pull, lift, or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequently push, pull, lift, or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Frequently climb up and down stairs.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places.
  • Very loud noise level.
  • Regular exposure to temperature changes in the production facility based on environmental conditions.
