About the Role

The Blender performs a wide variety of activities necessary to mix and pre-form material used in subsequent processes of thread seal tapes.

Responsibilities

• Weighs and measures PTFE resins, pigments, and lubricants according to internal procedures and blends them to form mixtures used in extrusion processes for Thread Seal.
• Operates preforming equipment to form billets loaded in extrusion lines.
• Relocates drums of resins from receiving areas to cold storage and production areas.
• Maintains accurate daily records of all raw materials and supplies used in the pre-forming/blending process.
• Inspects assigned equipment to ensure it is in good operating condition.
• Performs necessary cleaning on equipment and tools used in mixing and preforming activities.
• Sets up and operates assigned extrusion equipment according to internal procedures.
• Locates required materials, lays out correct tooling and dyes, and loads and extrudes products continuously.
• Unloads, weighs, and tags all finished jumbo rolls.
• Uses gauges, calipers, and micrometers to ensure products meet specifications.
• Ensures assigned extrusion equipment is maintained, and work areas are clean and free of safety hazards.
• Prepares and maintains necessary reports and records.
• Performs necessary cleaning on equipment and tools used in extrusion activities.
• Identifies and quarantines non-conforming products or components by moving them to a segregation area.
• Performs housekeeping tasks to keep aisles and work areas clean and safe.
• Identifies and reports discrepancies to leaders to ensure only quality products are produced.
• Stages material for extrusion to ensure proper identification.
• Performs any other assigned duties as directed by management.

Qualifications

• Accredited High school diploma or GED.
• One to three months of related experience in a manufacturing facility preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls.
• Ability to reach overhead.
• Ability to work in various positions, including stooping, standing, bending, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, pull, and push materials and equipment, frequently lifting up to 35 pounds throughout the workday.
