Responsibilities

• Follows production schedule and/or direction of supervisor.
• Starts equipment that directs blast or flow of abrasive laden compressed air over surface of parts.
• Removes shot from parts using an air hose.
• Loads and unload tables used for smaller components.
• Shovels or pours abrasive shot of specified grade into machine hopper.
• Controls a high-powered jet of abrasives to remove scale, paint, grime, rust and other imperfections from the metal surface.
• Examines finished parts to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Wears personal protective equipment as required. Includes fresh air helmet, blast suit and protective gloves.
• Follows proper safety procedures at all times.
• Cleans work area daily.
• Previous experience operating a forklift is a plus.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
