BLANK AST 3_Transportation Services Dispatcher
Responsibilities
- Cook up Daily Operations – Schedule and dispatch shuttle drivers and valet attendants to ensure timely and efficient service across UCSF sites. Perform opening and closing duties in shuttle yard, as needed.
- Monitor Real-Time Activity – Use radios, GPS, and dispatch software to track vehicle and valet movements, adjusting as needed for delays or high-volume periods.
- Customer Service – Respond to phone, radio, and in-person requests from patients, staff, and visitors, providing clear communication and resolving concerns promptly.
- Incident Reporting – Document service disruptions, safety concerns, and customer complaints, escalating issues and making notifications as necessary.
- Data & Logs – Maintain accurate records of service calls, dispatch logs, and shift activities for operational and audit purposes.
Qualifications
- High School graduation and four years of related administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Exercises a high degree of discretion in handling confidential information.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle stressful situations in a courteous, knowledgeable, professional manner and to interact effectively with public, faculty, staff, and co-workers.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven ability to problem-solve.
- Demonstrated proficiency in use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teams.

Department Description
The UCSF Department of Transportation manages transit and parking services for the UCSF community. Transit operations include fixed routes and on-demand services supporting nearly 2.5 million annual riders. Parking operations include over 25 parking garages and lots across the City, with over 7,500 spaces. The parking team also manages an extensive permit program, parking enforcement, citation adjudication, and other parking-related services. The Department promotes clean and sustainable transportation modes, including walking, bicycling, carpool/vanpool, car-sharing, and electric scooter-sharing. The Department has over 190 positions with an annual operating budget of over $45 million.
Salary Information
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
