Airbus Helicopters is looking for a Blades Aircraft Technician Trainee to join the Blades Repair team in Grand Prairie, TX. This role involves performing repairs on assigned rotor blades or parts under the supervision of the Blade Shop Supervisor.

From building to servicing the next generation of aerospace, the team focuses on quality, productivity, and efficiency. They ensure the highest quality of care and safety is built into each aircraft assembled and maintained.

Working environment

The role is based in Grand Prairie, TX, a suburb just outside the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area, where Airbus Helicopters U.S. has its regional headquarters with over 1,000 employees. The Dallas area is home to seven professional sports teams, including a custom Airbus helicopter dedicated to the Dallas Cowboys.

Responsibilities

  • Perform cleaning, dis-assembly, sanding, application of filler material, and preparation of rotor blades for repair and painting.
  • Perform work from technical manuals, work orders, inspection reports, and other similar documentation.
  • Perform cutting and preparation of materials for rotor blade repairs.
  • Move rotor blades as required within the Airbus Helicopters facility.
  • Assist other technicians in the blade shop as needed.
  • Participate in company training activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Some trade school experience (preferred).
  • Basic mechanical, painting, and body work skills (preferred).
  • 5% domestic and international travel required.
  • Must be a U.S. Person under ITAR definition (U.S. Citizen, green card holder, or person covered under existing ITAR license).

Physical requirements

  • Onsite: 95%
  • Vision: Able to see and read computer screens, equipment, documents, reports, and drawings (daily).
  • Hearing: Able to hear conversations and safety warnings or alarms (daily).
  • Speaking: Able to participate in conversations and deliver information (daily).
