Bistro Bartender- Reserve

About the Role

The Bistro Service Bartender will greet guests in the Bistro dining areas and provide world-class beverage and food service for the duration of their visit. Bartenders will deliver gracious hospitality and ensure all guests receive friendly, courteous, and prompt service at all times following prescribed and established service standards. In addition, staff will provide general support for the restaurant team, leadership, and company.

Responsibilities

• Serve food and beverages in a friendly, efficient manner according to standards.
• Keep bar and public areas neat, clean, and free of debris at all times.
• Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly, and maintain positive guest relations at all times.
• Resolve guest complaints/issues to standards, ensuring guest satisfaction.
• Ensure area(s) are properly stocked, prepped, and set.
• Perform opening/closing duties/responsibilities as assigned.
• Create alcoholic beverages in a timely manner following approved recipes.
• Create espresso beverages in a timely manner, utilizing equipment properly.
• Clean and organize back stock areas.
• Change half barrel kegs, lift cases of wine and beer, and perform other physical tasks.

Requirements

• Qualify for TIPS, ALE, and other related training (required).
• Minimum of six (6) months of bartending experience; one (1) year preferred.
• Basic math skills; ability to create/follow recipes using proper mixology techniques.
• Demonstrated commitment to delivering world-class internal/external guest service.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills; ability to engage with a wide variety of guests in a friendly and professional manner.
• Proactive, exercises good judgment, and can creatively problem-solve while anticipating guests’ needs.
• Strong organizational skills; ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
• Ability to quickly acquire knowledge about Biltmore, special activities/events, and Asheville and surrounding areas.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.

Physical Requirements

• Lift, carry, push, and pull 25-50 pounds.
• Lift and carry 25-50 pounds on a large serving tray, above shoulder level, with one hand.
• Lift up to 25 pounds on a small cocktail tray with one hand.
• Endure various physical movements throughout work areas and over the duration of the work shift.
• Ability to work in an environment with variable temperature conditions, noise levels, outdoor environments, and exposure to fumes, dust, and chemicals.
