Biomedical Scientist

About the role

A vacancy has arisen for a 9 months' Fixed-term full-time experienced Biomedical Scientist in our Haematology Department based at the Halo, 1 Mabledon Place, London. The role will involve processing of specimens, ensuring quality standards are met and ensuring a smooth workflow. To undertake and ensure that for each sample the appropriate requested investigations are performed in a timely manner, undertake and ensure that specialised and urgent specimens are appropriately dealt with and ensure the timely and accurate reporting of manual work results with correct follow-up including input of additional testing requirements, correct report comments, future testing instructions and patient special blood component requirements into the computer system. The tests are carried out on blood samples unsupervised and in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and local standard operating procedures. Work will be undertaken with much autonomy but under the overall responsibility of the laboratory manager.

Requirements

• Hold an IBMS-accredited Biomedical Sciences degree or equivalent qualification
• Have a current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
