Biomedical Imaging Specialist II

About the role

Provides advanced levels of equipment and/or departmental service and support. Performs preventive maintenance, quality assurance inspections, installation, testing, calibration, troubleshooting, repair, and general maintenance on one or more categories of specialized biomedical, imaging equipment, clinical data/network systems, and related technologies.

Responsibilities

• Completes the preventive maintenance (PM) workload to achieve a consistently high level of PM compliance over time.
• Provides safety checks, repairs, and installations of biomedical and communications equipment.
• Identifies and obtains supplies and other materials required to service, maintain, and repair equipment at the lowest possible cost.
• Establishes and maintains supporting technical literature such as manufacturer’s literature, references standards, specifications, and other documents necessary for supporting the biomedical program.
• Ensures that the biomedical equipment is following applicable regulatory requirements and quality control standards.
• Make effective presentations to small groups of peers to ensure staff remain up to date on new trends.
• Provides in-service and training on biomedical equipment and electrical safety.
• Periodically conform to a flexible work schedule on an as-needed basis.
• Participate in on-call rotation and upgrade support.

Requirements

• 3 years progressive experience in performing direct component and/or board level repair and maintenance on both general and model-specific equipment in the medical imaging field.
• Preferred: 5 years’ progressive experience in performing direct component and/or board level repair and maintenance on both general and model-specific equipment in the medical imaging field.
• Preferred: Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• Prefered: Attendance on equipment-specific training courses related to the equipment specific specialty area of expertise (extensive hands-on experience may be considered equivalent to specific training courses).

Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of state-of-the-art electronic and test equipment, quality assurance procedures, and preventive maintenance procedures.
• Knowledge of source, use, and applications of alternative parts providers as related to electronic or electromechanical equipment.
• Knowledge of advanced troubleshooting techniques.
• Ability to use vendor-supplied service documentation, technical manuals, and general electronics industry parts and specification materials to test, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair assigned equipment and related systems.
• Ability to work well in a team environment and to be self-motivated and self-disciplined.
• Effectively deals with multiple and changing priorities.
• Able to work well in a team environment and to be self-motivated and self-disciplined.

Benefits

The actual hiring rate will be determined based on candidate experience, skills and qualifications. This position is not eligible for an annual incentive.

Pay

$41.92 to $59.73 hourly

Schedule

Standard support (work) hours are Monday to Friday 7:00 am to 6:00 PM (8-hour day / split shift)
