Biomedical Electronics Technician I
About the role
Koniag Advisory and Business Solutions, LLC (KABS), a Koniag Government Services company, is hiring a Biomedical Electronics Technician I to support the Indian Health Service (IHS), Clinton Service Unit (CSU).
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, install, maintain, calibrate, and inspect a diverse range of medical and diagnostic equipment in a timely manner to minimize down time.
- Perform electrical safety testing on medical devices and systems using specialized test equipment.
- Aid in the support of the preventative maintenance program of medical and diagnostic equipment.
- Respond, track, and document service activities using the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) program in accordance with the Clinton Service Unit's medical equipment management program and all local, state, and federal regulatory requirements, namely Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and The Joint Commission (TJC).
- Use government provided vehicle to travel to remote sites to transfer, troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, install, maintain, calibrate, and/or inspect medical equipment (driver's license required).
- Communicate within the Biomedical Engineering Department to procure repair parts, PM kits, and vendor services.
- Participate in administrative and technical training opportunities pertaining to medical and diagnostic equipment, the Biomedical Engineering Program and the Clinton Service Unit mission objectives.
- Maintain professional conduct with all interactions between patients, employees, and vendors.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 1–3 years of hands-on, practical experience working on medical, diagnostic, electrical, mechanical and pneumatic equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot electronic and mechanical systems
- Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Manual dexterity and experience using hand and small power tools
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong customer service skills and professional demeanor
- Excellent computer proficiency (Microsoft Office or similar systems)
Qualifications
- Associate degree in electronics or biomedical technology
- Vocational, military, or on-the-job training in electronics/biomedical equipment
- Experience in healthcare environments
- Prior IHS or federal healthcare experience

- Hands-on technical support for medical and diagnostic equipment
- Electrical safety testing on medical devices and systems
