Biology Adjunct Faculty Pool - Academic Year 2026 - 2027
Portland State University’s Biology Department, located in the heart of Portland, Oregon, seeks local Adjunct Instructors to join our faculty pool for the 2026–2027 academic year. Our department offers undergraduate, master’s, and PhD degrees in Biology and is housed in the Science Research and Teaching Center and the Robinson Life Science Building, shared with Oregon Health and Science University. We are committed to excellence in both research and teaching, with faculty sustaining externally funded research programs across all levels of biological organization.
About the role
This is a recruitment listing for Adjunct Instructors to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in core areas of Biological and Biomedical Sciences. Course assignments will depend on departmental needs, funding availability, and instructor qualifications. Instructors must reside in Oregon or Southwest Washington.

Requirements
- MS in Biology or a closely related field
- Teaching experience in undergraduate or graduate biology courses
- Residency in Oregon or Southwest Washington

- PhD in Biology or a closely related field
- Teaching experience in undergraduate or graduate biology courses

Pay
