Responsible for preparing and delivering coursework in engaging, innovative, and discipline-appropriate ways that reflect a commitment to the college's core values, an understanding of culturally responsive teaching, and knowledge of the teaching field. Meets professional standards for faculty in accordance with college policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in accordance with the schedule of classes and follow the approved course descriptions and syllabi established by the Division faculty and administered by the associate dean/director.
  • Teaching assignments may be on one or more of the college's campuses or off-site locations and may include evening and weekend programs. (Collin College is not hiring for online instruction at this time.)
  • May include Dual Credit courses.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Perform all duties and maintain all standards in accordance with college policies, procedures, and core values.

In accordance with Texas Education Code 51.992, this position is designated for in-person work at a campus or other location of Collin College. Remote or telecommuting arrangements are not permitted except under specific circumstances defined by law, including temporary illness, approved distance education assignments, or other narrow statutory exceptions. All candidates should expect to perform duties on-site.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in discipline/qualifying field or a Master’s degree in any discipline with at least 18 graduate hours in discipline/qualifying field.
  • Teaching experience is desired.
  • Conferred transcripts, licenses, and certifications must be attached to the application.

This position is security sensitive; candidates will be subject to a criminal background check. If selected for a dual credit course(s), an additional background check requiring fingerprinting with the TX DPS will be required from the assigned ISD.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

  • Sedentary work: exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
  • Sitting most of the time; walking and standing required only occasionally.
  • Typically includes talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking, and repetitive motions, plus stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.
  • Relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards; office environment.
  • Little physical effort required.

Pay

Per Adjunct Faculty and CE Instructor Rates.

Schedule

Part-time. This position may remain open during the academic year based on anticipated need and student enrollment.
