Position Schedule
The schedule for this position is overnight 10:30 PM - 7:00 AM Wednesday - Sunday. Schedule flexibility is required.
Training Schedule
Candidate must be available to attend training Monday - Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM for a period of 2-3 weeks. (Based upon when hours are worked positions may include a shift and weekend differential of $1.50 - $4.50 per hour.)
Essential Functions
- Ensures suitability and accurate labeling of products for release and distribution
- Performs data entry associated with component production, labeling, storage and shipping ensuring accurate and complete manufacturing records
- Maintains and performs quality control checks on equipment
- Operates, maintains and performs quality control checks on equipment
- Quarantines and disposes of unacceptable products and/or samples and performs quality control on blood products
- Ensures adequate inventory of required supplies
- Provides customer service to internal and external customers and vendors
- May operate a OneBlood courier vehicle when applicable
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to organize work for timely completion
- Ability to multi-task, while maintaining the safety of blood components
- Ability to follow complex oral and written instructions
- Ability to speak, write, read and understand English
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Basic computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Skill in operating office equipment and technology
- Ability to report to work during a disaster, public health emergency or other catastrophic event
Physical Requirements
- Performing moderately physically demanding work for extended periods of time, involving standing, lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (up to 50 pounds)
- Moving objects of significant weight requires the assistance of another person and/or use of proper techniques and moving equipment
- Climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
Environmental Requirements
- Exposure to adverse conditions, such as inclement weather, atmospheric elements and pathogenic substances
- Exposure to blood-borne pathogens and freezers at below-freezing temperatures (-30F/-35C)
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
