Lab Assistant - $19.50

Work Schedule

This full-time position will work Monday thru Friday on 1st shift, 9:00 am - 5:30 pm.

Receives and Processes Samples

• Determines suitability of samples
• Processes samples as directed

Laboratory Records and Documentation

• Maintains laboratory records
• Ships documentation as needed

Inventory and Supplies

• Maintains laboratory inventory
• Orders supplies before depletion
• Recieves, stocks, and maintains laboratory supplies

Testing and Quality Control

• Performs unregulated laboratory testing
• Follows quality control protocols
• Maintains ongoing monitoring for testing processes
• Takes corrective actions when necessary

Cleaning and Organization

• Cleans and organizes work area
• Cleans and maintains laboratory equipment, reagents, and supplies

Computer System Utilization

• Uses computer system to obtain necessary data

Personal Protective Equipment

• Complies with health, quality, and safety policies, procedures, and practices
• Uses personal protective equipment as required

Essential Functions

• Reports to work during disasters, emergencies, or catastrophes
• Organizes work for timely completion
• Communicates effectively
• Reads, writes, and speaks English
• Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships
• Uses basic computer skills
• Performs moderately physically demanding work

Physical Requirements

• Periodically performs moderately physically demanding work
• May involve climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, prolonged sitting or standing

Environmental Requirements

• Potential exposure to adverse conditions, such as inclement weather, atmospheric elements, and pathogenic substances
• Potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens
• Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
