Biologics Assistant (Distribution) - $19.50

Essential Functions

• Performs tasks related to the distribution duties for the management of whole blood and blood components, in compliance with OneBlood standard operating procedures.
• May be required to perform duties related to other Biologics functions including manufacturing and transportation of blood, blood products and specimens.

Schedule

The schedule for this position is overnight 600 AM - 230 PM Tuesday - Saturday. Schedule flexibility is required.

Training Schedule

Candidate must be available to attend training Monday - Friday 800am to 430pm for a period of 2-3 weeks. (Based upon when hours are worked positions may include a shift and weekend differential of $1.50 - $4.50 per hour.)

Essential Functions

• Ensures suitability and accurate labeling of products for release and distribution
• Performs data entry associated with component production, labeling, storage and shipping ensuring accurate and complete manufacturing records
• Maintains and performs quality control checks on equipment
• Operates, maintains and performs quality control checks on equipment
• Quarantines and disposes of unacceptable products and/or samples and performs quality control on blood products
• Ensures adequate inventory of required supplies
• Provides customer service to internal and external customers and vendors
• May operate a OneBlood courier vehicle when applicable.

Physical Requirements

• The work environment involves the performance of moderately physically demanding work for extended periods of time, involving standing, lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (up to 50 pounds).
• Tasks that require moving objects of significant weight require the assistance of another person and/or use of proper techniques and moving equipment.
• Tasks may involve some climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.

Environmental Requirements

• The work environment is usually moderate in noise level.
• Performance of this job could expose the employee to blood-borne pathogens and freezers at below-freezing temperatures (-30F/-35C).
• The work environment may involve exposure to adverse conditions, such as inclement weather, atmospheric elements and pathogenic substances.
