BIM Project Designer

GAI Consultants, Inc is seeking a Building Information Modeling (BIM) / Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) Designer to work within our Power & Industry Business Sector. This position will support Revit BIM, and AutoCAD design drafting for industrial, power, utility, government, health care, educational, and commercial clients. Depending on the candidates’ location, this position will be fully remote or part of GAI’s Hybrid workplace place/Telework Policy. This position will function as a member of a team or independently to design MEP systems. Job Duties Lead design drafting and BIM activities for Revit based effortsSet up Revit models and workspaces for projectsCoordinate with external entities to assimilate BIM workspacesDevelop and enforce Revit standardsBuild Revit content libraries and familiesLead model clash detection and coordination processesWork with other designers / drafters within a project teamPerform AutoCAD drafting and designing servicesAcquire data from site walkdown via 3D scan, measurement, or sketches. Translate that into client MEP drawingsCheck/verify drawings/models for errors and clashesDevelop drawing sets for review, permitting, bids, or constructionAssist with internal drafting and BIM standardization General Characteristics Possesses foundational design drafting capabilities. Acquires basic knowledge and develops basic skills through mentored experience. Applies learned knowledge and skills to perform assigned tasks. Performs routine technical work which does not require previous experience. Minimum Years Of Experience 10+ Education High school and technical school or training Certification/Licensure N/A Technical Responsibilities Collects data and gathers information or documents. Participates in project teams and field investigations.Develops drawings or 3D models for engineering clients. Communication Skills Possesses basic oral and written communication skills. Identifies and acknowledges principles of teamwork and leadership. Interacts primarily with internal project team members. Interacts minorly with external clients and subcontractors. Why GAI?
