Essential Responsibilities & Duties

  • Support day-to-day billing operations and workflow coordination across the department.
  • Serve as a resource for team members regarding billing processes, claim handling, and escalation support.
  • Model professionalism, accountability, and compliance with company standards and operational expectations.
  • Aid leadership with monitoring workflow performance, departmental trends, and team productivity.
  • Escalate operational concerns, workflow risks, or process inconsistencies to leadership appropriately.

Quality Assurance & Reporting

  • Conduct quality reviews and account audits to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to established workflows.
  • Identify operational trends, training opportunities, and process improvement recommendations.
  • Support reporting efforts related to productivity, quality, and operational performance.
  • Assist with patient, provider, or insurance escalations when necessary.

Onboarding, Training & Team Development

  • Support onboarding and training initiatives for new team members.
  • Assist in reinforcing departmental workflows, expectations, and best practices.
  • Provide guidance, support, and peer coaching to help improve team effectiveness and operational consistency.
  • Communicate team development needs and training opportunities to leadership.

Billing Operations & Claims Management

  • Obtain billing authorizations and communicate with insurance representatives, TPAs, adjusters, and related parties regarding claim activity.
  • Submit clean and accurate claims for reimbursement processing.
  • Aid with denial management, appeals, claim corrections, and supporting documentation requests.
  • Maintain accurate account documentation and detailed billing notes within company systems.
  • Communicate professionally with patients, providers, insurance carriers, and internal stakeholders regarding account status and claim resolution.
  • Operate independently within billing systems while maintaining productivity and accuracy expectations.
