Responsibilities
- Assists attorneys with the preparation of bills for clients, ensuring timely processing in accordance with client agreements.
- Answers billing questions and researches billing-related issues.
- Prepares and distributes billing proformas, invoices, and billing-related reports.
- Acts as the billing advisor to attorneys and legal secretaries, ensuring all transactions are recorded according to accounting standards.
- Collaborates with other accounting departments to minimize financial exposure to the Firm.
- Generates and edits proformas, creates timecard summaries, updates matter and Timekeeper rates, and runs client reports upon request.
- Ensures timeliness, accuracy, and acceptance of invoices on a monthly basis.
- Follows up with Billing partners and others to resolve client billing issues and ensure invoices are approved and billed.
- Understands and implements client Outside Counsel Guidelines and fee terms.
- Processes electronic invoices accurately and efficiently, resolving any rejections or reductions promptly.
